A lovely calm 6:30am shoot.  A little chilly but some classy shots coming out of the photo shoot with Bill Doster.  Bill is one of the premier water sports photographers, you can check out some of his amazing shots on www.BillDoster.com.

Myself, June Fladborg, and Will all had a go with Will leading the way.  The sun was not even up when the boat shreded the glass water to pieces.  Bill getting some crazy Strobe Shots.  June was next going over the ramp with Bill shooting some nice Silhouette pictures.  I went last to basically replicate what June did but with a different filtered lense.

All in all  a fun morning.  Now I am watching Bill shoot Rusty Malinoski and Jimmy Lariche from the deck.

Mountain Bike Race PDF Print E-mail

Mulberry, Fl.  Out in the back sticks of the swampy land is a great mountain bike course.

This Sunday myself, Will, and Stan Switzer teamed up to form the Ski Bums, set to do battle on a 6 mile trail over 6 hours.

Each of us took it in turns to master the course.  Will went first, then Stan, and I was last.

The course proved to be very challenging to Will who ended up going over the handle bars 4 times on his first lap.  Not a good start.  Stan was flawless throughout appart from a snapped chain which, as luck would have it happened right near the start line.  Will also encountered a flat tire half way round but was lucky to be met by another racer who helped him put the tire back on.  A few minutes lost but was all good in the end.  I had some good laps, although missed a couple of turnings which added some time to my over laps times.

Myself and Will got to squeeze 4 laps in whilst Stan got 3.  Very gruelling and tiring.  The course on Carter Rd was very challenging with steep climbs, challenging ridges, and a sandy base.

Other skiers their were Aurelian Serault, John Travers, and alex paridis who formed the ski posse..

We ended up 3rd which was great.  Very happy with the overall performance and especially since we had not done much off road riding.  Was a lot of fun and hope to do it again next year.

Cheers.. Pictures will be up soon..

Busch Gardens PDF Print E-mail

Having achieved a strenuous day out yesterday, we thought it was well worth the while to take it a little easier and have some fun.  Taking a little lye in, we decided to go hit up Busch gardens for an afternoon of high thrills riding.

Myself, June, Heinrich, and Martin hit it up around mid-day.  Starting with the scorpion we headed over to the rapids to get soaked.  June got absolutely drenched from head to toe.  The park was pretty quiet and so all the main rides got some attention.  We managed to get on Sheikra 4 times right on the front seat.  Pretty crazy.  Even heinrich(bob) had a go at the very end.  The Gwazi was intense.  Rattling every bone in my body and I swear, popping a hip out at some point.  Probably the most violent ride I have ever been on.

All in all a good day.  Lots of fun.  Busch Gardens is defintely, in my view, the best theme park in florida.
