Malibu Boats, the worlds leading competition ski and wakeboard boat manufacturer, is excited to be partnering with the organizers of “Quake on the Lake” to create a unique, high-energy watersports festival for the summer of 2008. “We are excited to be partnering with the organizers of Quake on the Lake to create this unique, high-energy water sports festival in Michigan,” expressed Lani Farmer, Team and Event Director for Malibu Boats. “We feel like this venue and these partners will enable us to better the Malibu Open just like we better our boats every chance we get.”

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Malibu Open showcases the top slalom skiers, jumpers and wakeboarders in the world. World records have fallen during 7 of 9 Malibu Opens. This year athletes are looking to commemorate the 10-year milestone with more amazing performances.

Participating Malibu Open male athletes will have the opportunity to compete in slalom, jump or wakeboard events, while the women tear it up in either slalom or wakeboard. Skiing disciplines will be pulled by the World record-breaking Malibu Response LXi while the wakeboarding portion of the competition will be pulled by Malibu’s Wakesetter VLX.

The Malibu Open will take place between White Lake and Waterford townships at the Pontiac Lake State Recreation Area.

Wiremill directions

From the South

The Wiremill Water-Ski Club is situated at New Chapel, Near Lingfield, Surrey,  4 miles North of East Grinstead, off the A22.   If driving North, look for the PUB sign . . . .

The Wiremill Inn, on the right hand side. It is only 200yds past Markeys Diner (on the right), just after a bend.

If you reach the Mormon Temple roundabout, you've missed the entrance, so double back and take the second entrance on the left.

From the North

From junction 6 of the M25 (Godstone exit), head South on the A22 for 6 miles.
There are NO turns to make, just continue straight over 2 roundabouts, then you will pass through South Godstone,

passing the railway station, a Little Chef on the right hand side, a Texaco Garage on LHS, and just after the garage, traffic lights (signposted left for Lingfield).

Continue on the A22 until a roundabout, where the B2028 crosses the A22. You will see the spire of the Mormon Temple on the right.

Go straight over and Wiremill Lane is the second entrance on the left hand side (about 500yds).

Look for the PUB sign . . . The Wiremill Inn.   The Club is near the end of the lane.
